Visa Type
If you are a international student and plan to study at undergraduate or postgraduate level in the UK for more than 6 months, you will need to apply for a Student Visa (previously know as Tier 4 (General)).
If you are coming to the UK to study at a British Council-accredited English course for more than 6 months but not more than 11 months, you can apply for a Short-Term Study Visa.
If your English Language course is for less than 6 months, then you can apply for a Visitor (Student) Visa.
Application:
– Apply online through the UK government website.
– Provide personal info, education history, and travel plans.
– Submit proof of course acceptance, funds, and English proficiency.
Timing:
– Apply at least 3 months before the course starts for ample processing time.
Health Surcharge:
– Pay a health surcharge for access to the NHS where applicable.
Biometrics:
– Provide fingerprints and a photo at a visa application center during the application process.

• Student Visa: students have been offered a place on a course by a licensed student sponsor: £490

• Student Visitor Visa: students studying English language for not more than 6 months: £115
