Likely costs for different visas are detailed below:

Student visa

Visa Type

If you are a international student and plan to study at undergraduate or postgraduate level in the UK for more than 6 months, you will need to apply for a Student Visa (previously know as Tier 4 (General))

If you are coming to the UK to study at a British Council-accredited English course for more than 6 months but not more than 11 months, you can apply for a Short-Term Study Visa.

If your English Language course is for less than 6 months, then you can apply for a Visitor (Student) Visa.

Application:
– Apply online through the UK government website.
– Provide personal info, education history, and travel plans.
– Submit proof of course acceptance, funds, and English proficiency.

Timing:
– Apply at least 3 months before the course starts for ample processing time.

Health Surcharge:
– Pay a health surcharge for access to the NHS where applicable.

Biometrics:
– Provide fingerprints and a photo at a visa application center during the application process.

Application Fee:

Student Visa: students have been offered a place on a course by a licensed student sponsor: £490 (Non-Refundable)

Short term study visa: students studying English language for more than 6 months but not more than 11 months: £200
(Non-Refundable)

Student Visitor Visa: students studying English language for not more than 6 months: £115
(Non-Refundable)

Visitor Visa

Visitor Visa (2024):

Visitors from some countries to the UK must obtain a visitor visa in to enter the country for tourism, business meetings, or family visits.

– The visa application process can be completed online via the UK government website.

Application Requirements:

– Applicants need to provide personal information, travel details, and the purpose of their visit.

– They may be required to submit supporting documents such as invitation letters, accommodation details, and financial proof.

– Visa applicants should also meet specific eligibility criteria based on the purpose of their visit, like tourism, short term study, business, or family visit.

Processing Time:

– The published processing time for visitor visas  is 3 weeks, however this can vary case by case, so applying well in advance of the intended travel date is recommended.

Validity:

– Visitor visas are typically issued for a specific duration, allowing visitors to stay in the UK for a defined period, which should be adhered to.

COVID-19 Considerations:

– Visitors should check and adhere to the latest COVID-19 travel guidelines and requirements set by the UK government.
